Making Things for Little People

I think this is my favourite crafting thing to do.... Making stuff for the little folks in my life... I would happily do this all day every day (ohhhh if only.x.) - I have painted up some mdf board for the Santa signs - I used Nitwits, Joyful Hearts for Caitlins little sign - it's a gorgeous kit and I defy you to resist it!...x.... I have also, with permission from Caitlin's wonderful Mummy pictured my first canvas attempt for her - I am not sure about this one - it's the first try so I may start over and tweek a bit... I remembered that I have a blue and white china plate that my dearest nan bought for me when I was born, it had a picture of a stork holding a baby and all my birth details are hidden in the painting... I still treasure it now.x.

Flyer

Hhhmmmm - I just made a flyer to try and see if I could sell some of my work - I know it's not an easy thing selling crafted items - and I am sure that many crafters, like me, would love to live the dream of selling their work - a tough decision... I am going to post some locally to where I live whilst walking Yogi - and I'll let you know if anything comes of it - fingers crossed.x.x.x. I'd love to hear if anyone who might see my blog does sell their work and how they go about it... And to those that do - well done! I think that's wonderful!

Cupcakes and Canvases

Been playing again.... I guess I should start getting more involved in the crafting community out here on the www... I love blog surfing and reading up on challenges - I'll try and find some of the latest fabbo challenges out there and see if I can post some cool links... Hope everyone is enjoying the run up to Christmas with lots of festive crafting - it's such fun isn't it! Any excuse for a bit of glitter eh!!!

Well, finally - finally - finally - I braved a small canvas and used some digitally created bits along with some real and proper paint - ha ha... They are likkle canvases - only 6" x 6" - but you gotta start somewhere eh... I also printed out some lovely cupcakes from the same kit onto some hefty card and printed them in reverse (so that they are now double sided) - added a smidge of glitter and thought I could hang them on my Chrimbly tree... Love cupcakes - don't you?....

Pink Christmas

Hi... Just thought I would post some pics of some cards and altered bits that I have been very lucky to have done for Practical Publishing. They have some great Christmassy magazines out at the moment - full of fabulous inspiration.... Safe to say I think I've been labelled 'Miss Pink' as I've had lots of Pink Christmas Projects on the go! Tee hee - who's complaining - I'm in my element with anything PINK! In the Christmas Bookazine there are some wonderfully colourful Christmas Bits and Bobs made by the most awesome Jo Kill - gorgeous!

Felt Bouquet

Hi! Well, I know I've mentioned my LOVE of felt once or twice - I know, I know...
Anyhooo - one day, some months back now, I googled for some felt flowers and found Princess Lasertron - WOW! As you can see - she's just amazing and totally inspired me to have a go at making some flowers myself. There is a tutorial on her site of how to make felt flowers - it's fab and real easy to do... This is my first kind of 'funky' stitching project as I have never embroidered before - so it isn't too good - but I had great fun and want to make some more now! tee hee... I'd love to know what you think of my attempt - constructive feedback is always gratefully received........

One great tip is to use your sizzix original's dies with felt - they cut so cleanly and are fab with fabrics. There are many bold chapes that can be cut and sewn - like my hanging hearts that I made a while back... Just makes cutting so much easier - as you know I am severely scissor challenged - I cannot cut very well AT ALL!!!!
22nd February 2009 - Just an update following a number of enquiries - It would seem that the u-tube link for Princess Lasertron's tutorial is no longer active. If you visit her blog at Princess Lasertron there are lots of lovely bits and bobs on there and you can contact her directly for any enquiries. I think she's even bringing out some kits too! I am afraid that I don't know her personally - I just GREATLY admire her work and her style!...x....

Baby Congratulations

I am bursting with pride and overwhelmed by joy - as I write this post to congratulate my dearest, most treasured friend, Joanne on the recent birth of her first child... A beautiful Daughter.... She really is absolutely beautiful! I made her some little treasures....x... Mostly using Making Memories Animal Crackers again - it is so nice! And lots of Sizzix Dies - Elephant, Heart No 1 (which I used for the felt heart too) and the accent die to hang her name plaque from...

Happy Birthday To Suuuuuuuuuuzi

T'was my Sistaaaaahhhhh's Burpday on Wednesday.... She's now the grand old age of "Thirty Fi - cough cough".... sorry where was I?.... She is in a band called The Circus of Sound and they are fandabidoubledozie!!!... oh and I made her these coz she is super lovely!....

Circus of Sound - I wanna CD - pretty pleaseseseses!!!

I made the card above using Lorie Davison's Faerily Moonlit Kit (with everything in it!) and some Prima flowers, with some blue Prima lace trim. I cut out the dancing faerie with my Craft Robo - because I am severely scissor challenged and I find tracing the image on my pc easier (probably takes longer, but that's me!) I simply adore Lorie's art - she is amazing!

And this one with some of Kay Miller's papers in the background with Basic Grey papers for the small squares, which were cut on the Cuttlebug and American Crafts Chipboard letters added... Oh and a touch of Prima Crystals too bought from here (lovely shop in Upminster - with super lovely owner!)

I am chatting too much - sorry!

FELTastic Hearts

I'm a self-confessed felt-a-holic... I love the stuff... So I thought I'd go all out and see if I could sew straight! tee hee - it is getting better-ish!... Well, I've combined my love of hearts, felt, aromatherapy and pink and come up with a few of these. Simple crafting is sometimes the most rewarding isn't it... Plain and simple and sweet - easy enough for me anyhoooo!...

The pink and green one is my fav - not least because that has a few drops of a 'stress and tension relief' blend of oils in it... Hmmm - maybe I should keep that one!

Sad post....

I am sorry, but, I have to pay tribute to this guy... Because I loved him dearly - so - I am posting a sad post - but a tribute to a wonderful faithful friend... We lost our boy on Tuesday, very unexpectedly - following what should have been a routine op - he was 11 months and 2 weeks old... He passed away. In his short time with us he taught us so much and our children too... He will be missed. I know it's not something that is normally posted - but I wanted his picture here - because he's beautiful and I was so proud of him... He came top in his puppy class... He was part of a demo team for German Shepherd Dogs and he loved, loved, loved to work... This guy is gonna be one special angel I tell ya... One of the best - love you Buddy.x.

Teachers - Thank you!

Just thought I'd post a little note as I've been making some Teacher Thank You cards for my eldest son - still more to make so I'll be busy this week!... Mrs Morris is a wonderful, inspirational, patient, remarkable, encouraging, teacher - and it is with thanks to her that we are seeing our boy's confidence grow (just finishing her card!)...

Mrs Carpenter is her teaching assistant and we know that she has been such a strong supportive presence in Ben's life this year... He tells me that he will really miss her and doesn't want to leave her to go to a new class - and that's testiment to her caring nature - he simply adores her!

We couldn't have asked for better influences this past year...

Happy Daddy's Day!

Made this for Hubby - I saw the quote in Papercrafts Magazine and knew it would fit perfectly with this photograph and that it simply and perfectly describes Tony to a 'T'...

Happy Daddy's Day!

And this one for my Dad - something fun for Grandad!

I used Shabby Shoppe 'Smarshmallows' for these cards - I love her stuff!

Simply Cards & Papercraft

Oh! I am still in a bubble waiting for that POP! I thought I'd post this - although it sounds a little bit conceited really, but I so don't mean it that way, but I am so shocked and delighted tooo... And I want to thank Joanne because if it wasn't for her, my best friend in the whole world, it would never have happened, and I still can't believe it really because it's such a dream come true... and.... and.... 'oh, do shut up Jennifer!'...
(shhh - I made the cover of Simply Cards & Papercraft)... (yippeeeeee....x.x.x.x.x.)

Daring Cardmakers Template

I can't resist a template - hhhmmmm..... Not sure I've done this one justice though... I was rushing again... But I thought I'd post them anyhooo - I didn't quite get all the elements in unfortunately so I think that may disqualify me!
I've found fabulous templates at www.pagemaps.com and http://dihickman.blogspot.com/. If anyone knows of any others, I'd be very very very grateful if you could post a link on my comments - I think when I have some papers and elements that I just have to use - a sketch/template makes it happen so much faster!!!

Pink Petticoat and Bowling...x...

I made this card for my Mum to give to her friend who, as you can see, is going to be 65 and likes to play bowls... I used some KanBan images that I picked up at Ali Pali - very useful!
For the papers, I used a collaboration kit from Nitwits and Kay Miller - Happily Ever After - it's one hell of a full kit and suitable for SOOOOoooo many different things.... Think I shall play some more with that this afternoon...x...
And here I have used some Pink Petticoat papers and images - Pink Petticoat started my love of using the computer for cardmaking - and I always go back to them for girly cards - lovely - and of course lots of PINK!!!!

Tagedebooooo

Tagedeboooo....

OOOh this is another NEWBIE thing for me - I've been tagged! How nice of Andrea to think of me - I'm so flattered! However, I can only part play because I'd love answer the questions but honestly don't have anyone to 'tag' myself... "Billy No Mates me!"

1. If a movie was being made of your life who would you like to be cast to play yourself? And why?
Do you know I would have loved it to be Doris Day, just like 'Calam'! I am such a dreamer!...

2. You are spending a whole month on a desert island for charity and you have to choose your favourite celebrity to spend the first two weeks with & your least favourite celebrity to spend the second two weeks with, who would they be & why?
Celebrity - hmmmmm - don't really watch the box much... But of course if you were to drop Jon Bon Jovi in there I would be quite pleased about that... Tee Hee... And the following week - ermmmmm... I don't know - I can't think who would be least favourite - not that I have many least favourites as I can't think of anyone at all... I am sure that all celebrities are just normal 'human beings waiting to get out'... Oh! Oh!, just thought of something!!!! I guess, in a strange kind of way one those fitness types - it would be hell but maybe they could get me into shape!

3. What are your three favourite crafting products?
My PC/Printer, adhesive and cutter I guess... That's an evil question!

4. If you could invent something to do anything what do you think it would be?
A magic wand that would spread compassion in absolute abundance to each and every sentient being... hmmmm....

5. What are the last three books that you read?
Obedience Training for Winners (or something like that - dog training book)

There is a Spiritual Solution for Every Problem - Wayne Dyer
The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying - Sogyal Rinpoche

6. Qvc or create & Craft?
X

7. Docrafts or Dovecraft or DCWV?
Hmm not really had much use of DoCrafts, but I like both the others, Dovecraft and DCWV... Don't make me choose.... perleeease...x.

8. What is your claim to fame?
I don't think I have one - well - erm - except I guess for my very best friend sending my website link to Simply Cards and Papercrafts Magazine and them asking me to submit some work to them - which was like a dream come true - in fact I am still floating in that bubble waiting for a 'POP'!

Thank you and apologies for noone to tag onto too....

Impressions of Healing and Calm

What a fantastic name for a digi kit - when I read that title - I just had to have it regardless of the contents - but the contents are FANTASTIC! I would highly recommend to all - it's at http://www.scrapbookgraphics.com/. It's simply beautiful and I know that I will be creating lots and lots and lots of things with it.x. This is the first one... sorry for the naff picture. I only get time to play after dark so the lighting wasn't good...
I have submitted this card on the Daring Cardmakers Blogspot for Jo's challenge... I think it could be quite easy to become seriously addicted to those challenges... This may be my first, but I really don't think it will be my last!

And here is another card that I made using the new kit at Kay Miller Designs. I love this too - I have been a naughty shopaholic recently haven't I?????...

Ali Pali

Went to Ali Pali yesterday with my bestest buddy Joanne and had a fabulous girly day! Bought lots that I shouldn't have - and nothing that was on my list! Naughty Me.x. So this is just a thank you post to Joanne for sharing a great day with me - thank you!

Sorry Riley!

Well, a much needed apology card - as my darling little (???? sorry large and lolopy ????) 7 month old GSD decided to jump all over a 5 month old GSD that we go training with. So embarressing - and totally MY fault... Poor little Riley cried so much - and Buddy - well - he just looked as perplexed as usual - giving me his 'what d'I do now?' look... I just wanted the ground to open and swallow us whole... I know, I know - it's what large and lolopy puppies do, but, I do feel suitable embarressed and terribly sorry as Riley is a lovely placid little thing...
I thought I'd attend my next training class with a card and lovely chewbone for Riley and apologise properly... We are sorry Riley.x.x.x.x.x.x.
(PS - I made this card with a kit from www.nitwitcollections.com - farleyfriends)
